Living Fossils
While extinction has claimed many, some species have refused to go quietly. Plants, insects, Fish, and some reptiles have continued to evolve and thrive despite extinction. While these “living fossils” are not the same species and instead are modern equivalents or distant relatives who have evolved to fill an ecological niece
Cultivation
Many of these living fossils are easily kept in a laboratory environment and through detailed research and careful cultivation we can maintain a stock of living fossils allowing us a simulacrum of prehistoric life.
Simulate
By analyzing fossils and comparing age and location we can assemble a simulate paleo environment that could perhaps allow some data to be gathered on comparative paleo-botany.
